| The Douglas County Arts Guild is a membership organization of practicing artists and friends of the visual arts in Douglasville. The Guild was founded more than thirty years ago (1973), predating the establishment of the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County. Its members meet at the Cultural Arts Center monthly, on the first Tuesday of each month from 7pm to 9pm. |
Guild activities include field trips to Atlanta arts centers, build your business in art, museums and galleries, workshops in silk painting, still life drawing studio projects, painting, slide lectures, gallery talks and other educational programs. The Guild used miniatures and reproductions of their own works to decorate the Cultural Arts Center’s Christmas Tree for the 2005 holiday season, and their one-of-a-kind- decorations proved very popular – a wonderful fundraiser for its activities. Guild members also have group art shows in and around Atlanta, as well as individual exhibitions.
